1. How easy is it to set up recurrent monthly donations? It is as easy as installing an app or logging into your bank account. Zelle® is a revolutionary new service that lets you send money through your bank's account service or through a stand-alone app in minutes. Created by the nation's top banks, Zelle® is the new way to send money. Most of us are already familiar with automatic payments for recurring transfers for bill payments through our banks. You can set fixed recurring payments to Bountiful with the same process or use Zelle®. It is your choice!

  2. How do I get started? It’s easy — if your bank or credit union offers Zelle, it’s already available in your mobile banking app or online banking! Check your mobile banking app or sign-in to your online banking site and follow a few simple steps to enroll your Zelle profile. You can find a list of participating banks and credit unions offering Zelle here. Bank of America, Chase, City, Fifth Third, Huntington, PNC, Wells Fargo and US bank are some of the examples of major financial institutions that participate in Zelle®. Click here to get started with your financial institution.

  3. Don’t see your bank or credit union listed? Don’t worry! The network of participating financial institutions is always growing but until your financial institution joins the Zelle®, you can use Zelle itself by downloading the Zelle app for Android and iOS. To enroll with the Zelle app, enter your basic contact information, an email address and U.S. mobile number, and a Visa® or MasterCard® debit card with a U.S. based account. Zelle® does not accept debit cards associated with international deposit accounts or any credit cards.

  4. Are there any fees to send money using Zelle®? Zelle does not charge a fee to send or receive money. We recommend confirming with your bank or credit union that there are no additional fees.

  5. Is my information secure? The Zelle app uses authentication and monitoring features to make your payments more secure. So whether you’re using the Zelle app or using Zelle through your bank or credit union’s mobile app or online banking, you’ll have peace of mind.

  6. Which charitable institutions are available for sending my donations? For central Kentucky, there are several educational, community outreach and faith-based organizations that are enrolled in the local chapter of Bountifuls. New charitable institutions will be added to the list if 5% of current Bountifuls donors vote for its addition as a new Bountifuls charitable institution. All enrolled institutions must have tax-exempt status from the IRS under section 501(c)(3). All houses of worship & any organization (other than a private foundation) that has gross receipts in each taxable year of normally not more than $5,000 may be treated as tax-exempt without filing Form 1023 application with IRS.

  7. Does Bountifuls offer scholarships? Yes. Every year a $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a graduating high school senior for educational purposes. Students are expected to have demonstratable evidence of leadership and a deep commitment to philanthropic causes. Applicants submit a short essay outlining why he or she should receive the award. The winner is presented with the award during their school's Senior Award Program. Name of the winner is publicized in local newspapers in a brief article with the student's picture.

  8. How much of my donation goes to my charities and how much is overhead? All (100%) of your donation is directed to the charities you selected! Our team is all-volunteer, but we do have a very lean overhead: website hosting, domain renewal, application suites and postage/printing for year-end itemization reports. If you would like to help to offset these costs, feel free to add a small monetary tip to your donation. All tips directly fund only these four regrettably unavoidable costs. The maximum tip per month is $1.

  9. Can I send donations to more than one organization? Yes. You allocate what percentage of your monthly donation goes to which organization. We strongly recommend supporting a broad spectrum of organizations.

  10. When does my charity receive money? You can choose to get your money sent automatically during the setup process, on any day of the month. We, however, send money to your favorite charity at the end of the month after all donations of that month have been received.

  11. Can I send additional money on a one-time basis, above and beyond my monthly pledged donation? Yes. You can send any amount of money any time you wish. However, you must let us know to which organization's allocation(s) you would like to disburse those one-time additional funds. You can still use your initial algorithm for an additional amount(which is percentage-based allocation) or you can specify to send additional money to only one organization. Just re-send us another Google Form, that you received during initial enrollment.

  12. What if need any help in setting up the donation? Our volunteers are always happy to walk you through the process. We are only a call away or you can always drop us an e-mail. Happy giving!
